About us

Leyte IDOL is a year-long multi-level vocal singing competition conceived by Hon. Carlos Jericho L. Petilla. Produced by the provincial government of Leyte, Leyte IDOL is primarily geared towards the development of the homegrown talents of the province by providing them with a meaningful, noteworthy and wholesome venue that effectively enhances and showcases their inherent musical skills.

Since its inception, the Leyte Provincial Tourism Culture and Arts Council, Inc. has ably supported this outstanding project. It has paved the way towards the promotion of these local talents and has, at the same time, promoted local culture, as well. This year’s season is thus a continuation of the commitment that the previous seasons—Leyte IDOL 2006, Leyte Bulilit IDOL and Leyte IDOL 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2013—have successfully established. Most importantly, this year’s season is a renewal of a noble commitment that seeks to provide performance opportunities that goes beyond the geophysical confines of the province wherein which it was born.
